Strength circuits, HIIT, yoga, mobility — every class is taught by a certified coach and runs on equipment that's actually built for the format.

Classes That Use the Equipment Properly

Most group fitness programmes are choreographed around the minimum viable equipment footprint. Alpine Ashford builds its class formats around what the floor actually has. Our strength circuits use the Eleiko barbells and bumper plates. The functional intervals class uses the Technogym Skillmills and SkiErgs, not generic cardio machines. The Saturday morning mobility class runs in the recovery studio with foam rolling stations, assisted-stretch benches, and resistance bands — equipment that most gyms treat as an afterthought. Every session is capped at 12 to 14 participants so that coaches give real, individual cues rather than shouting corrections across a crowded room. Class sizes and instructor assignments are published two weeks in advance on the member portal, and Premier and Elite members can book up to one week ahead of general access.

Class Categories at a Glance

Strength & Power

Barbell-focused sessions built around squat, hinge, push, and pull patterns. Classes include a structured warm-up, a primary strength block using Eleiko platforms, and a short conditioning finisher. Suitable for intermediate to advanced lifters; modifications available. Runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and Tuesday evenings.

HIIT & Metabolic Circuits

High-intensity interval sessions alternating between Technogym Skillmills, rowing machines, and functional floor work. Sessions are 45 minutes and structured in 3 to 4 rounds. Heart-rate zones are guided verbally by the coach; chest-strap monitors are available to borrow at the front desk.

Yoga & Mobility

Three formats run through the week: a 60-minute Vinyasa flow, a 45-minute yin and assisted-stretch class, and a Sunday-morning restorative session focused on recovery from the training week. All yoga sessions are held in the dedicated warm-studio room, separate from the main floor.

Recovery & Conditioning

A weekend-only class combining foam rolling protocols, band-resistance corrective exercises, and guided breathwork. Designed specifically as a follow-up to heavy training weeks. Limited to 10 participants per session; medical clearance is advised for members returning from injury.

Specialty Workshops

Monthly Saturday workshops hosted by guest coaches on topics such as Olympic lifting technique, endurance programming, and nutrition periodisation. Workshops run 90 minutes and are open to all members; Premier and Elite members receive priority booking. Separate from the weekly schedule.

I've done the HIIT circuit at four different gyms and the Alpine Ashford version is on a different level — literally because the Skillmill treadmills add incline resistance automatically. My resting heart rate dropped 8 beats per minute after six weeks of Tuesday and Thursday sessions. The coaches know everyone's name by the second class.

How to Book and What to Expect

Group classes are included at no additional cost with Premier and Elite memberships. Essential members can purchase individual class credits at $12 per session, or a 10-class bundle at $99. Booking is managed through the Alpine Ashford member portal, accessible on mobile and desktop. Classes open for booking 7 days in advance for Premier and Elite members, and 3 days in advance for Essential members. Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours before class start time to avoid a no-show credit deduction. If a class is full, the waitlist activates automatically — cancellations within 24 hours almost always open a spot. First-time visitors are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early so the coach can introduce themselves, confirm any injury considerations, and point you to the right equipment modification if needed.
